Profile
Following research and clinical training at Usmanu Danfodiyo University in Sokoto and Bayero University in Kano, I joined the college of health technology jega in 2018 as a Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist and Honorary Consulting Scientist in the Department of Histopathology at Kalgo Medical Center.
I received my accreditation as a medical laboratory scientist in 2015, and in 2019 I became a subspecialist in medical virology and tumor biology. I've been actively working in the lab (molecular virology, computational biology, computational drug discovery, and bioinformatics), conducting research, and teaching since 2019.
Research interest
I study the biology of human papillomavirus, focusing on how the L1 and E6 genes of the virus contribute to the development of new drugs. Additionally, I'm looking at sars-cov-2 molecular studies and testing some natural compounds against isolated strains in northern Nigeria.
I oversee the college's laboratory program for infectious disease and its prevention, which has research ramifications.
