The course is designed to train middle cadre human resources in basic nutritional challenges of the society, these include the importance of food and feeding in healthy living, effects and consequences of poor food and feeding habits.
The course was introduced in the college in 2017 academic session with 100 students, the nature of the training is full time in 2 years duration within four (4) semesters. The entry requirements include possession of five ’O level credits from WAEC or NECO in the following subjects:
1. English Language
2. Mathematics
3. Biology
4. Chemistry
5. Physics


The National Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics is an NBTE Accredited programme and Kebbi state college of health technology, Jega do not meet the accreditation requirements of NBTE when contacted, hence the college have no option than to signed MoU with Emirate college of health science Kano to graduate the admitted students pending when the State Government provide the facilities and manpower needed for NBTE accreditation. Thus far, the Department has successfully graduated 99 students in 2019 in affiliation with Emirate college of health sciences Kano.
